Salford boss Karl Robinson has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association after being sent off 14 minutes into his first game in charge.

Robinson was red-carded for delaying the restart of play in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Forest Green.

It is alleged the former Oxford United boss acted in an improper manner, and he has until Monday to reply.

The 43-year-old told 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Manchester he would be on the touchline for Saturday's trip to Crawley.

"I've been given a fine and I'm on the touchline [against Crawley], which I think is a bit too much but I've got to accept that," he said.

"That was the frustrating thing for me - I felt like people think it's because of your anger, or you've lost control, but it certainly wasn't that.

"I had a smile on my face when he sent me off, I was very baffled."

Prior to his first game in charge, Robinson had despite being appointed just 24 hours beforehand.

"When he [referee Charles Breakspear] showed me the red card I said 'sorry, I think you've got that wrong and got the wrong colour' and he said 'no'," he continued.

"It was frustrating but I think you can see the sense of calmness on the whole situation. You have learn from every situation. Even the ones where you don't think you've made a mistake, you have to respect what's been done."
