Mark McGuinness: Cardiff City defender out for six to eight weeks with hamstring injury
Cardiff City centre-back Mark McGuinness is facing six to eight weeks out with a hamstring injury.
The injury is a blow for the Bluebirds as McGuinness has been a mainstay in their defence this season, making 30 appearances in all competitions.
The 23-year-old missed Saturday's 2-0 home defeat by Preston, with Liverpool loanee Nat Phillips taking his place.
"I think this is another disappointing part," Cardiff manager Erol Bulut said after the Preston game.
"It looks like he will be six to eight weeks out with injury.
"He is 23-years-old and had a great season until now. Now we don't have him for the next games.
"I hope Nat [Phillips] and Dimi [Goutas] will manage it good together to be on the same level."
