Portsmouth boss John Mousinho says he is "not done yet" in the transfer market as he continues to build his squad for the Championship.

The Blues will kick off their season on Saturday when they face Leeds at Elland Road but Mousinho feels his squad might not be complete until closer to the transfer deadline.

鈥淵es the seasons starts in days but the window doesn鈥檛 close until the end of August,鈥 Mousinho told 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Solent.

鈥淭here鈥檚 still plenty of time for us to bring players in, we do have to be focused on the short term though and make sure we can secure results.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a really fine balance though, there鈥檚 still plenty in the pipeline so we鈥檙e not done yet, there鈥檚 quite a few options that we鈥檙e trying to pursue.鈥

On Monday, 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Solent held their annual Portsmouth FC fans' forum which allowed supporters to put questions to a panel that included Mousinho, captain Marlon Pack, chief executive Andrew Cullen and women's head coach Jay Sadler.

The head coach highlighted a particular market that might become available to him as the window progresses.

As the Premier League and Championship seasons get under way across the next two weeks, fringe and academy players will learn more about their futures and whether they might need to look elsewhere for game time.

Last season, the Blues hit the jackpot with a number of loanees from England's top two tiers, the standout being Abu Kamara from Norwich City, who scored double figures in goals and assists across 52 appearances in all competitions.

Alex Robertson from Manchester City and Tino Anjorin from Chelsea also impressed despite injury impacting their respective seasons on loan at Fratton Park.

鈥淭he big thing for us this summer is finding the balance between waiting long enough for the player we want and taking what is already available," said Mousinho.

"When we have said no to a player so far it has come down to in our opinion, that player is not making us any stronger, we don鈥檛 want to bring the wrong players in.

"We鈥檙e very focused though and feel we are prepared to start the season and also across the full 46 games which are of equal importance.鈥
