Huddersfield moved to the top of Super League as their 100% start continued with a comfortable win at Hull KR.

The visitors put in a dominant display in and out of possession to lead 10-0 at the break thanks to tries from Louis Senior and Lee Gaskell.

Huddersfield, who had prop James Gavet stretchered off in the opening minutes of the second half, extended their lead through Paul Clough and Suaia Matagi.

Ben Crooks scored a consolation for the hosts in the final minutes.

The Giants have now won their opening three games, with all three wins coming away from home.

They made the perfect start in Hull when Senior finished brilliantly inside the opening three minutes and never looked like relinquishing that lead.

Crooks reduced the arrears with 10 minutes to play but their night was summed up when Ryan Brierley's attempted conversion was blown miles off course in blustery conditions.

Simon Woolford's side are now top of the Super League, while Hull KR have slipped to three successive defeats.

Hull KR head coach Tony Smith:

"It was frustrating. It was really clunky. I thought we didn't play the conditions very well, particularly taking advantage of that wind in the first half, we should have been kicking long and early.

"Our skill level, the amount of balls that went to ground tonight or behind players.

"They got a pretty easy ride into half-time. It was hard to watch and it was hard to play in."

Huddersfield head coach Simon Woolford:

"I thought it was patchy but you've got to take into account it's a tough place to come and play and the wind made it difficult.

"We started the season last year with seven or eight out of our top 17 unavailable," said Woolford.

"The guys are a lot more committed and a lot more resilient this year. When we have had to roll our sleeves up and defend our line we've been able to do that."
