England international winger Jermaine McGillvary has joined Wakefield Trinity for the 2024 season, ending a 15-year stay at Huddersfield Giants.

The 35-year-old was not offered a new deal at his hometown club, for whom he scored 209 tries in 312 games since signing full-time in August 2008.

McGillvary has joined second-tier side Trinity, who appointed ex-Castleford Tigers boss Daryl Powell as head coach.

"I was super impressed with how driven he is," Powell said.

"He's been an unbelievable player for a number of years, and I have no doubt he's going to have a barnstorming season on the wing for Wakefield Trinity.

"He is an impressive man and player and I am confident the Trinity supporters will absolutely love what he will do this season."

McGillvary was a regular scorer at Super League level and a mainstay for England - particularly at the 2017 World Cup, where he scored seven tries in six matches.

Trinity have also retained centre Romain Franco for 2024, after two tries in four games in a short-term stint last season.
