Harplands Hospital

Many people might have images of hospitals that treat patients with mental health needs as being like the old fashioned Victorian asylums.

So 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Stoke's Helen Thomas travelled to Harplands Hospital - the main mental health hospital for North Staffordshire - to find out what it's really like.

Helen visited some of the wards, shown around by Suzanne and Mick (main picture above) - two nurse practitioners.

Are patients locked in there? What sort of treatment do people receive? And how are patients prepared for a return to the community?
