The Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Symphony Orchestra present an all-British Prom, with Elgar’s ‘Cockaigne’ overture, Holst’s Hammersmith and Vaughan Williams’s A London Symphony featuring alongside a selection of Stanford’s songs performed by baritone Christopher Maltman

Patricia Kopatchinskaja returns to the Proms to perform Schoenberg’s Violin Concerto with the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Symphony Orchestra and Finnish conductor Tarmo Peltokoski. We also hear Vaughan Williams’s ‘Greensleeves’ Fantasia and Shostakovich’s Fifth Symphony.

An evening-long meditation on life and the hereafter, devised by Sakari Oramo and featuring the UK premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s astonishing final masterpiece Hush.
