Tips for when posting photos

Millions of photos are every day online. While someone may own the photos they put on most social media platforms - if they are publicly available, they can end up just about anywhere in the world.

It's important to be careful with the information given away when positing a photograph too. Strangers may be able to see where you are, what you've been doing and could take your photo and use it without your permission.

There are ways you can prevent this.

Setting a profile to private is a way around this. Only friends, family and people you know have access to it. This is an easier way to control who has access to your personal information.

You should also make sure you never post a picture of your mates or family members if you don鈥檛 have their permission. Just ask them before you hit that share button and if they are not comfortable with it, respect their decision.
