This list confirms that anyone can make music.
To be an athlete you have to bring everything to the game, which means there isn鈥檛 much time and energy left for any other creative outlet, such as making music.
We鈥檝e compiled the sport personalities that have to be recognised for their vocal talent, the good and those who have tremendous self-belief.
Either way, they should be commended for doing something different.
9. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
We were first introduced to The Rock when he was wrestling in the WWF, now WWE.
He then went from the small to big screen in the early 2000s but it was in 2016 that Johnson sang as one of the leading roles in Disney's animated story Moana.
Playing the role of the Polynesian demigod Maui, Dwayne Johnson sang his way to saving the people of Montinui.
8. Vinnie Jones
The hard man of football has had many different careers since the heyday of his 1980s and 1990s career in the beautiful game, trying his hand at acting, writing and singing.
In 2002 Jones released his debut album Respect, featuring a plethora of feel-good anthems including the appropriately named Bad, Bad Leroy Brown.
Even after all this time, Vinnie Jones has restarted his singing career by taking part in this year鈥檚 X Factor: Celebrity.
7. Peter Ebdon
Better known for his methodical approach, the former world snooker champion recorded a cover of David Cassidy鈥檚 I Am A Clown in 1996.
The song didn鈥檛 receive much recognition, or adulation, at the time but this didn鈥檛 deter him from releasing another single, Fall of Paradise.
6. Caroline Wazniacki
Caroline Wazniacki is an outstanding tennis player but she will also be remembered for contributing vocals on the song Oxygen in 2012.
The video of the song featured her signing tennis balls, presumably in case you didn't know who she was otherwise.
There are lots of camera click effects throughout the track and an interesting bridge section where Wazniacki and her partner take part in the worst conversation ever, "you're my match point" etc.
5. Shaquille O鈥橬eal
Now retired, professional basketball player Shaquille O鈥橬eal is one of the few athletes to maintain a music career transition.
He has released four rap albums, conducted the Boston Pops Orchestra and produced electronic dance music whilst still contributing to the NBA as an analyst.
I鈥檓 Outstanding was the most successful single from his debut album Shaq Diesel.
4. Glenn Hoddle & Chris Waddle
When Diamond Lights was released in 1987, Glenn and Chris were playing for Tottenham Hotspur and in the midst of a period of change at the club.
During a late-night karaoke, the two were spotted by a top music producer when they were offered the chance to share their vocal talent with the public.
The song peaked at number 12 in UK Singles Chart, which warranted a follow-up single titled It鈥檚 Goodbye, which luckily it was.
3. Manny Pacquiao
Not only is Manny Pacquiao the current WBA welterweight boxing champion and Senator of the Philippines but he has recorded three studio albums.
The songs reference either the struggles he has overcome to claim the world champion title or his passion for the Philippines, such as the song Lahing Pinoy (The Filipino Race).
2. (Macho Man) Randy Savage
Wrestler "Macho Man" Randy Savage recorded a rap album in 2003 which features a diss track, to his once wrestling partner Hulk Hogan, and a tribute to his close friend 鈥淢r Perfect鈥 Curtis Hennig who died in 2003 entitled Perfect Friend.
It is refreshing to hear such sincerity from someone who was ferocious in the wrestling ring.
1. Andy Cole
Ex-Manchester United striker Andy Cole celebrated winning the treble in 1999 by recording the song Outstanding.
The rap track uses the same sample as Shaquille O鈥橬eal did in I鈥檓 Outstanding.
Cole clearly isn鈥檛 modest about his achievements but he does acknowledge his humble beginnings, such as growing up in a Nottinghamshire mining community in the 1980s.
