JOHNNY: Jasmine, how are you doing?
JASMINE: Oh, I'm exhausted Jonny!
JASMINE: It's been a spectacular day of Dodge Zone.
JOHNNY: You can say that again, final match of the day is about to start.
JOHNNY: Shall we look at the rules for viewers who just joined us?
JASMINE: Yes, let's, as you know Jonny Dodge Zone is a game
JASMINE: tosses and tumbles, leaps and lobs and.
JOHNNY: Dodges and ducks! QUACK
JOHNNY: Not that kind of duck.
JASMINE: The aim of the game is in the name.
JASMINE: Both teams throw balls at opponents
JASMINE: and try to dodge the balls thrown at them, simple.
JASMINE: Each team has to stay on their half of the space
JASMINE: and throw balls at the other team.
JASMINE: When a player is hit, they sit down and can only return to the game
JASMINE: if they or a member of their team catches a ball.
JASMINE: If you're in a wheel chair instead of sitting down,
JASMINE: you have to catch with your left hand, if you're right handed.
JOHNNY: Sound like great fun.
JASMINE: It sure is Jonny.
JASMINE: Hey, don't worry, if you get hit
JASMINE: it won't hurt, they're spongey balls.
JOHNNY: But before you have a go
JOHNNY: let's see the teams here in their final match.
JASMINE: The teams are taking their positions.
JOHNNY: On one side we have the daring darts.
JASMINE: Known for their bold but sometimes risky play.
JOHNNY: And across from them, the Ghost Brigade.
JASMINE: These ghosts are so good at dodging. It's spooky!
JOHNNY: Okay, let the game begin!
JOHNNY: The Darts rush forward to grab as many balls as they can.
JASMINE: Truly daring.
JOHNNY: The Ghosts have only managed to get one.
JASMINE: That puts them squarely on defensive against the Darts attacking.
JOHNNY: Oh, a good throw there.
JASMINE: And a great dodge by that Ghost.
JOHNNY: Let's take a closer look at what happened with the throw and the dodge.
JOHNNY: First up, let's look at the throw.
JASMINE: The Dart player starts with a good balanced stance
JASMINE: making an L-shape with their feet.
JOHNNY: Then they wind back and step into their throw.
JASMINE: Being sure to keep their eyes on the target.
JOHNNY: And then their arm follows through to ensure a good fast throw.
JOHNNY: And that's how to throw like an expert.
JASMINE: Why don't you have a try?
JOHNNY: Stand up and pretend you're holding a ball.
JASMINE: Get your feet into an L-shape
JASMINE: to give yourself a good solid base.
JOHNNY: Now pull your arm back.
JASMINE: Keep your eyes on your target.
JOHNNY: Step into your throw.
JASMINE: And follow through for maximum power.
JOHNNY: Excellent, now you know how to do a great throw.
JOHNNY: Let's take a look at that dodge.
JASMINE: See her eyes fixed on the player making the throw.
JASMINE: If she was looking away, she wouldn't see the ball coming and get hit.
JOHNNY: Once the Dart player throws the ball
JOHNNY: she quickly decides which way it's going.
JASMINE: You can see she鈥檚 thinking "is it high, low, coming left or going right?"
JOHNNY: She decides it's going right and immediately lunges to the left.
JASMINE: Perfect dodge!
JASMINE: Now you try.
JOHNNY: Watch where the player throws, then try to dodge.
JASMINE: Duck!
JOHNNY: Jump!
JASMINE: Dodge right!
JOHNNY: Dodge left!
JASMINE: Good work!
JASMINE: Keep practicing, hopefully you'll get so good at dodging, you won't get hit.
JOHNNY: But just in case you do get hit.
JOHNNY: Let's practice catching
JOHNNY: to get yourself or your teammates back in the game.
JASMINE: Don't forget, if you get hit you'll have to sit down
JASMINE: when sitting you can still throw balls to hit your opponent
JASMINE: and help block the balls from hitting your own team.
JASMINE: Now you try catching.
JOHNNY: Sit down and keep your eyes open.
JASMINE: When you see a ball coming towards you
JASMINE: put your hands out with your fingers spread.
JOHNNY: Make sure you watch the ball all the way into your hands.
JASMINE: Let it fall into your hands, just like this.
JOHNNY: Great work!
JASMINE: Well, back to the action here, it's been a tough game.
JASMINE: But I think the Ghosts have scared away the competition.
JOHNNY: Are you ready for a game of dodge ball now?
JASMINE: See you next time!
Commentators Johnny and Jasmine join the teams in the arena to learn the rules and skills of the game Dodge Zone.
Pupils can then test their own ability, by playing along with the interactive sections of the film; where balls appear to fly out of the screen towards the children.
They need to dodge left, right, duck, jump and lean back to avoid being hit.
The quicker they are able to react, the better chance they have of not being hit.

You could set up your own 鈥楧odge Zone鈥 in the classroom, school hall or playground.
Start by practicing the skills outlined in the film, before splitting the class into two teams for a game.
Key curriculum skills include throwing, catching, agility, reaction time, responding to changing stimuli, understanding and applying basic team tactics of attacking and defending, competitive element.
