Teacher Notes

Could be used to encourage creativity when generating ideas for a product.

Students could be provided with a variety of natural forms, such as leaves or pictures of animals.

They should select one to use as inspiration to design a product, such as a hand held controller for a video game.

After sketching their initial ideas, they could be provided with modelling clay or foam to develop a model of their design.

Students could also carry out research to identify other products that have been inspired by natural forms.

This clip will be relevant for teaching KS3 and KS4/GCSE Design and Technology, materials.
