Join us as we celebrate 50 years of Newsround with this cross-curricular Live Lesson for 7-11 year-olds. We鈥檙e travelling through time, reflecting on news reports from the past, exploring stories of the present and imagining headlines of the future.
Presenters Mr Smith and Newsround鈥檚 very own De-Graft Mensah are looking at how Newsround has covered key events to illustrate how to turn a story into a news item.
With links to history, citizenship and literacy topics, this interactive live programme investigates what goes into making a C麻豆官网首页入口 Newsround report. Pupils will learn what goes into researching and writing factual stories and news bulletins, whilst becoming familiar with journalistic practices such as impartiality.
We鈥檒l also be asking pupils to switch on their imaginations by imagining what the news might look like in 50 years鈥 time. From the weird to the wonderful, we hope this inspires them to write and present their own news report for friends, family or even their class.
