Introducing Hannah and Jouv茅
Hannah and Jouv茅 are both doctors living in Portadown, Northern Ireland. The couple are welcoming their first child Matthew into the family.
Hannah and Jouv茅 met in Uganda at the hospital where Jouv茅 worked as a junior doctor and Hannah undertook a medical placement. She was only there for eight weeks, but they instantly hit it off and kept up communication after she鈥檇 left.
As first-time parents we have experienced a huge range of emotions. Love, pride and excitement, but there is also a lot to learn as we figure out how to look after this new tiny person!

Jouv茅 grew up in Uganda, where he worked hard to secure a career in medicine. After his move to Northern Ireland, he was worried about obtaining work in the medical profession. Although there have been lots of hurdles along the way, he has completed a master鈥檚 degree and is currently working in public health.
Hannah was raised in Northern Ireland. She has been impacted by a hearing impairment from a young age and wears hearing aids in both ears. Hannah hopes that any difficulties that this may present in parenting will be easily overcome.
The couple鈥檚 Christian faith is very important to them, as is music, and Jouv茅 is a keen guitarist.
We have loved our first few weeks with Matthew, it鈥檚 hard to remember what life was like without him!
