1984: First broadcast of Crimewatch UK
In the files of the UK police forces, many serious crimes remained unsolved. For the first time, these forces were brought together in a regular nationwide programme that sought audience help in solving them. Detailed and meticulous reconstructions would be used to jog memories and gather new evidence. Presenters Sue Cook and Nick Ross waited in the Crimewatch studio for calls from the public.
