Police Commissioners
In a few months' time Welsh voters will be asked to go to the polls again - this time to elect new Police and Crime Commissioners to oversee policing in their local force area. The Westminster Government argues that the new posts will improve public accountability and help deliver a more effective police force; critics fear they could lead to the politicisation of policing and possibly compromise the operational independence of senior officers.
