Nigel French
I recall I lived at Ball House, Pewsey for most of 1943, had my 4th birthday there and went to my first school in the village. My father was a flying instructor at Central Flying School RAF Upavon. He subsequently went on ops in 1944/45. We moved about a lot during the war, but Pewsey always has a strong affection in my memory. I have lived in Western Australia for past 40 years but intend to revisit Pewsey soon. I have only just discovered this website and was pleasantly surprised to see old photos of the house. I also recall there was a fire in a ground floor room killing a pet dog but cannot remember whether this occurred before we moved there or after we left. There are many other childhood memories here of lesser nature but won't go into this now.
