I did my Apprenticship in the Square in Old town The Square house at that time had a cellar which had access to tunels across the square towards the Locarno as it was then but were partly blocked up the were just high enough for me to stand up in i wonder what they were for Wine prehaps

I always knew the tunnels existed as having been down the iron mongers in Wood Streets cellars. Why is it that no records exist, I appreciate they were proberely used to smuggle contraband once? Trev.

Is this called the Villett's House ... it's a masterpiece. I must note it down so one day when I come to visit England I'll know where to go. My favourite hobby is looking at old English buildings and I have to admit - I admire the architecture of England and I really hope I can come over (to England) someday and have a look at the actual thing. Cheers, Brian

What a fantastic series of photographs - reminds me of the time when my Dad lifted me up (when I was little) so I could peak down the tube like structures in Theatre Square - and being surprised at seeing a spiral staircase disappearing down into the gloom. Also there鈥檚 a hatch at the back of Brunel鈥檚 statue鈥檚 plinth that has always intrigued me. Things like this always make me think I may have walk past the entrance to a secret a labyrinth without knowing it...
