Knowing God through islamic worship

When Muslims worship they kneel with their heads on the ground.

This position teaches Muslims many things and reveals something of :

  • Allah is greater than they are, which is why the they put their faces to the ground when they approach him.
  • Allah is omnipotent (all powerful) which is why they are bowing to God鈥檚 power.
  • Allah is immanent (nearby). In other words he is involved in the world and hears prayers.
  • Allah expects obedience. Muslims bow to Allah as they are his servants and should submit to him.

Muslim prayers begin by reminding the worshipper that Allah is compassionate and merciful. Therefore Muslims remember that Allah is forgiving.

Allah is omnipresent (everywhere). Muslims pray all over the world at five set times of day.
