Moving in different directions

Description

Words can be used to describe the positions of objects and people. Key vocabulary and concepts related to moving in different directions are introduced and used to describe the movement of a group of acrobats.

Classroom Ideas

Students could play a game to build on the ideas in the clip. Movements could be written on pieces of paper and put into a hat. For example, take two steps to the right or move forward one step. Students would then take it in turns drawing a movement from the hat and moving as instructed. After each movement the students could then describe their position in relation to another player. For example, 鈥業 am behind Robert but in front of Angela.鈥 If they get the answer wrong, students could take one step back. The first student to reach the end wins.
