It must be incrediby difficult being out there in the field..having to deal with all sorts of unknowns, and being put on the spot in this way. Meantime, we sit in comfort at home....
Thank you, Bruce, for being such a great, adventurous ambassador for all of humanity in this way, and for putting yourself on the line with your team so that we can all learn how to share this beautiful planet with each other.....and so that we can share insights about our common humanity with people in such diverse situations. You do such fantastic work for all of us. Please take care of yourself!

First of all Bruce you are a legend!
Yes the Coca issue is a complex one. The massive western demand for the drug and the lack of real alternatives for Colombian farmers have led to this huge industry. A fair trade playing field would be a start. If we stopped subsidising our EU farmers to such an extent which effectively prices developing nations out of the market they may not have to resort to growing coca. Let's face it I think its in the interests of many of the riches economies to keep the status quo not matter how much they pay lip service to it.

Hello Bruce,

This is a brilliant site and I will be eagerly following your progress whilst at my desk at work. I'm already looking forward to the TV series and book...

I met you at the Cheltenham Literary Festival just before you left the UK. The photo turned out brilliantly and you are my nobile Wallpaper!

Keep up the good work. Take lots of care and best wishes to you and the team.

Hi Bruce,
best wishes for the festive season to you and the team, wherever you may be. It is surreal that we sit here in our cosy, insulated little worlds, while the rest of the world carries on around us. I think that to some extent progress is destroying our civilisation, and not enough of us care about the way we live and the way it affects the world around us. I am a Travel Consultant and hear differing arguments for and against travel all the time. Travel is good if handled properley, and people should take the time to learn more about other cultures, not just eat and sit on the beach. love the series, look forward to this one. Blog is fab. Speedy recovery to Matt B. Keep up the good work, you are a legend.

Luv and happy thoughts

Tan x
