Camille Jones ft. Fedde Le Grand - ' The Creeps'
I tell you what makes me laugh. You know that the only way to sell dance music for TV these days is to make a video as if plucked straight out of the imagination of the blokes who read Nuts magazine? Basically, it's ladies (lots of), they're not wearing a lot, and there's a sort of story which involves them raiding the dressing up box and being sexy. All good 'clean' harmless fun, right?
Well, probably, but it's doubly funny when a video is made for a song called 'The Creeps' and it features an entire office full of sexy secretaries doing a variety of menial tasks - pencil sharpening, envelope licking - only in a sexy way, just to make their pervy boss happy. It's like the song title is a direct criticism of the people who made the video! That's practically genius-level media-terrorism...or just fairly average dance track video marketing with a slighty ironic twist.
What's that? What's the song like? It's brilliant, actually. Camille is all whispery and stuttery, Fedde's end of things is suitably bang-tastic, and there's a vaguely menacing cloud hanging over the whole thing which would come across as apocalyptically HUGE over a massive PA, or a really good set of headphones.
And if it helps you to think about sexy ladies while you're being musically threatened, well, that's really up to you...
