Biffy Clyro - 'Living Is A Problem Because Everything Dies'
HEALTH AND SAFETY ALERT!
There are scenes within the video to this song which are frankly hazardous to anyone of a non-rock star nature, and as such should NOT be attempted, unless under the direct supervision of someone like Gene Simmons or that bloke out of Aerosmith. Put simply, playing your brand new rock epic in a leaky cellar is just asking for trouble...and standing under a burst pipe while wearing an electric guitar - albeit one which is clearly not plugged in - well there's foolhardy and then there's just plain stupid.
Luckily, there are enough clues in the song itself to suggest that the band don't really want you do copy what they're doing and get yourself involved in some terrible water-and-electriciy-based accident. Lots of lyrics about making the most of every moment while you're alive, and not wasting time dicking about. Especially not in hazardous cellars.
And unlike other Biffy singles which occasionally suffered from a kind of washed-out musical blandness after the first minute or so, this is choc-ful of little dynamic touches, so that if you attention should DARE wander off for a second, there'll be some gothic choirboy, or massive drum-thwack, or orchestral twiddle, or stoppy-start bit which will smack you around the chops like a cold wet flannel.
And the great thing is, even though this is a song which starts big, gets bigger, builds, swells, expands, and then REALLY GOES FOR IT at the end...at no point do you find yourself getting deafened by a rush of hot air. They've managed to stay just this side of ridiculous bombast, for which we should all be extremely grateful.
So, in summary, Biffy equals good, water plus electricity equals BAD...OK?

ohh yeah, i did look at that yesterday..derr to me! anyway, iv got far too much to remember atm, i have exams soon! last day of school tomorow, first exam on mon. its only general studies so who cares really but still, 2 wks 2moz til geography..argh!

lucky for some, yours are almost over! i have 3 general studies exams, 2 geography, 3 environmental science (each an hour and in a row!), a chemistry and a biology exam....pfft im dreading these next few weeks, though i am seeing good charlotte on 22nd which should be good :)

Eugh that does not sound like fun! I was always quite lucky with my exams in school, always had at least one day in between them which was awesome. I'm sure you'll be fine though! What're you wanting to do at uni?
erm hopefully environmental science but im thinking probably the more geography based side of it as geo is probs my best subject. im so annoyed bout when my geo exams are though....theyr the day after funeral for a friend play in birmingham so i cant go to see them :( but theyr doing a tour in november time i think so hopefully ill go then. youre at uni or summat right? what do you study?

That really sucks about FFAF :( I had to limit my gigs this month because there were so many decent ones and I just didn't have the time.
I'm doing psychology.. with sociology.. and I'm pretty darn sure I'm dropping philosophy as of the exam yesterday. Not because it went badly it's just an entirely ridiculous subject. Though it has one of the best lecturers in the uni in the department :P
Need to take statistics next year for psychology.. EUGH
i know someone whos doing environmental sci whos at lancaster atm. she says its really good :) ugh i hated maths at gcse, joint worse grade with french (still bs though which i was really pleased with :D)...stats is the easiest part of maths, though good luck with it none the less

We've done some stats this year in psych and they're not especially hard just very dull. Ach got the entire summer before I need to worry about it anyway!!
im not sure where i want to go yet....east anglia is one of the best in europe for es (environmental sci) but its apparently in the middle of no where. im thinking about going to birmingham as its a half hour train ride from home, as a city its got everything i want and you need abb i think to get onto one of the courses that im thinking about which is good...one of the main things im looking at is what grades they ask for i dont want to end up doing something that isnt going to challenge me. im gonna go to open days and take a look around, see what feels right.
have you got the rest of the summer off after exams? thats not fair if you do :( after exams we go back and start yr 13 but im missing the last 3 weeks as im going to australia! :D

im going to western australia, to a place called bunbury. my best freind emmigrated there in 2005, just after we won the ashes..she now regrets rubbing that victory in since this winters return visit!
Nice! My aunt moved out there, went to visit her a few years ago. Never heard of Bunbury though, she lives in Perth. I was totally paranoid about the deadly spiders thing! Did Syndey and Cairns as well, the great barrier reef is the best place on earth, I want to go back maaan :(
