For some singers, morals are very important. The respect with which we all treat one another is an essential part of who we all are. It's the only way you can judge the true worth of someone. After all, ethics isn't just how people with a lisp talk about the county which lies to the immediate east of London, y'know.

So, clearly messing with someone, a scenario which is described in this very typical brilliantly different waft of Hed Candi fluff-disco (or Candi-floss, as I like to call it), is a bad thing. And messing with male someones seems to be an even worse thing than messing with female someones.
The Boots, being an equal opportunity kind of organisation, want you to know that although gender IS a factor in how severely offensive the messing is, age is NOT. Therefore messing with a man OR a boy is given equal weight in the eyes of their judicial system.
What's extra-interesting is that this song seems to have the exact same back-story as 'Misery Business' by Paramore, which regular ChartBlog readers will remember as being the one which caused a comments storm about their cavalier use of the word 'whore'. You'll all be pleased to know that no such profanity exists in this song.
But woe betide anyone who should have the temerity to go out with a male person and then to break up with them, only to watch them go on to date one of Booty Luv and to wonder if they had made the right decision and to kind of act as if they might want to go back out with them again.
Seriously, WOE is going to BETIDE someone who does a thing like that. CRAZY MAD WOE. Not just your average woe, but the kind of woe that makes normal woe look like enormously good luck. That's right, lady, they're going to DO A SONG ABOUT YOU.

Excellent review. I feel this song is basically a dance version of 'Misery Business' without the word 'whore' in it.

I have to say, I heard the original on a tape I rediscovered in a dark and disused corner of my bedroom the other day and can safely say, despite the obvious brilliance of both, that I am not yet too old to say I prefer cover versions.
