OMG !

Not only was it so annoying to listen to the guy presenting The Chart Show tonight , as though the listening audience were all under 10 , we now have to read an episode of banality and tedium....

Oh dear !!

At least he didn't ask people to ring up talking about their favourite type of chocolate or cookie, or did he? I don't know I've given up on listening to the chart show. Meanwhile on a positive note Reggie is pretty good at table football.

After the absolutely dreadful JK and Joel , Reggie is the reason WHY I CANNOT listen to the Chart Show .

As soon as he starts speaking , I turn the radio off , as do hundreds of other people who regularly liaise with me about making the chart show better .

As everyone knows here , I love music with such passion , and mostly know my stuff , but the way the Chart Show is presented is absolutely KILLING MUSIC !!

I cannot listen , is it aimed at just listeners under 10 ?
It is condascending , immature , and ANNOYING to an insane degree !

The Chartshow is the jewel in Radio 1's crown , and deserves a presenter who values the music and it's listeners.

Oh seriously? Just the other day I was thinking how nice it was to not have these things any more. Stay away!! Get your own blog like Greg James or something.

I caught ten minutes of the Chartshow today, it was shocking.

What I don't understand is the whole "Laura from Cardiff things that Owl City will be number 1 this week". Brilliant. Theres plenty of nutters out there who think crazy things will be number one (some people even thought Bieber would be #1, crazy!!) We don't need to hear from one person saying each potential song will be number one.

I would like to register my love of Miss. Cotton's show mid week. She does a fantastic show (much better than the previous presenter in my opinion). Im glad she ditched the double act.

You know as well , that Reggie has got the Chart positions written in front of him , but he is STILL encouraging people to spend money to guess the number 1 !!!

He already knows !!!

And the way he goes ON AND ON with the same topic in a condascending way.
I literally shout at the radio..

"GET ON WITH IT !!! "

Surely the songs should be the stars of the Chartshow , not a presenter , who according to research , causes people to switch off their radios ?

I agree with you Liam , Fearne is a much improved broadcaster.

Or a presenter who talks about the music more!!! It's the chart. Talk about the MUSIC. The interviews with guests quickly descend into table footbal. TABLE FOOTBAL!?!?! Yeh thats good radio. That makes a great listen to when I'm driving. Talk about the MUSIC.

I don't mind keeping people guessing with the number one, discussion of the contenders etc. After all that's what we do. It's just done in such an inane way.

Yeah , but we are not paying money each time , when someone on the other end knows the answer !

And he is encouraging people to text in about songs to be number 1 , when he already knows that they aren't number 1 .

Tonight , he knew Owl City was number 1 , but he was encouraging people to spend money and text in , if they felt Iyaz , Glee , Katy Perry or Journey would be number 1 , when he knew they weren't .

The RADIO 1 CHARTSHOW should be ALL about the music !

We need a presenter with a real love of music , who will let the music be the star .

Someone who gives information about each act , and values the listener , and treats each song with respect .

lol, loving all the comments. I had to make a trip yesterday and it unfortunately was at the same time as the chart show. I think I always am interested in the chart show and then remember that Reggie is on it.

Good to see that he has taken the true blog approach and given us a proper behind the scenes look and not just repeated what happened on the show oh wait..

I love the fact that the most important chart of the year was presented by Scott Mills with no explanation of why it wasn't Reggie!

To be honest the only show I actually listen to now is Zane Lowe's mainly because I like the music and the fact that it is all about the music. It's not just the Chart Show that does this inane chat it's all radio programmes, it's the reason why I don't listen to radio anymore I just put on my Ipod or find the song I want on Youtube.

I think the top picture is great, he's trying to bribe you to like his show with a half empty box of cookies. It should really be captioned "Welcome to the Chart Show", it sums it up.

I love music with passion.

I have never texted in to Reggie's chart show .

I worry about the decline of the Radio 1 Chart Show .

I have been in or around the music business for a number of years now , and find the presenter condascending and inane to a most annoying degree , which makes me turn the radio off when I hear his voice . This occurs with a number of my colleagues , and a lot of music people cannot understand why a show as glamorous and as important as the chart show , where the actual sales chart is revealed for the first time anywhere in the world , does not come from the "love of music " angle .

In Reggie's defence , he may be told to be annoying and talk about other banal items other than the music . When he hosted the chart after Michael Jackson passsed away and Michael had a record 13 singles in the chart , he handled this with empathy and understanding and gave a great performance , so I know he CAN do it .

Before and after each song , give us relevant information about the artists ,chart facts,forthcoming gigs , forthcoming album etc . I do not want to know what colour socks Taio Cruz is wearing .

Whose idea is it to fill this show with such childish nonsense?

This IS THE OFFICIAL CHART SHOW , of which the entire music industry is based , and radio 1 seem to want to cheapen it ,aim it at an audience under 10, make people switch off , annoy the listeners and leave it open to satire and parody .

Does anyone at Radio 1 KNOW that their jewel in the crown is being tarnished ?

Im pretty surprised all my posts "slipped through". Normally I get at least one per topic gone lol.

Its actually really easy to get posts removed. Spirit called me something completely unoffensive once, I think it was dipstick. I reported it and said I didnt like the word, bam it got removed. I checked a few days later, it was actually removed and not just refered.

If I start talking about how The Chart Show could be improved , and how annoying the current presenter is , I begin typing with an intense passion and purpose .

Things have got to change though, I care about Radio 1 too much !

Reggie is Brilliant, (not to mention gorgeous!) He keeps it real he does his set and gives you what you want musically does he not??? so stop your bit*hing and dont listen to the show if you dont like the banter etc...

He keeps it real: what does that mean in the context of a chart show?

He does his set: yes, he does.

Gives you what you want musically: it's the charts, so not strictly relevant, I mean not many people like all the music in the charts.

Don't listen to the show if you don't like the banter: if it was just a normal dj show, then yes, fine, but this is the official chart show. There is no alternative show to listen to if you want the official charts live. I suppose I could just stick my fingers in my ears between songs and sing "lalala I can't hear you", but I daren't. If Simon Cowell heard me I'd be on tour in America within a fortnight, the UK press all reporting my breakdown and burnout, and be fending off burglars in my house at all hours.

It's like having the ten o'clock news presented by Russell Brand. It just doesn't work for a lot of people.

If you like it, then fine, that's great for you.

On in the car today I heard one of the worst bits of radio in a long time. I'm not sure Reggie is to blame here, but I'm gonna portion him 50% of the blame anyway. He is the DJ after all. Not sure if anyone else was listening to this radio gold as well.

Today's chart was as shocking as ever. Sisco trivia, not cool. Not when it's padded out so much anyway. Also, if I had a penny for every time Reggie said "get/got involved" I'd buy out Radio 1 and fire him.

But the crowning moment (also when I switched over to local radio..) was around these numbers in the charts -

So Reggie plays (the awful) 'Rude Boy' by Rhianna. Makes a joke about it being a family song. Twice. Then he announces the next numbers in the chart. My thought process was this -

"Cry me out .. don't play it its old and not very good .. Chipmunks fine.. oh he's moved onto Biffy next PLEASE DON'T PLAY IT RADIO1 PLAYS IT EVERY 5TH SONG ARGH HE'S GOING TO PL.... Rhianna. He's playing Rhianna again. GIVE ME BIFFY.

Two songs in a row. Rhianna. What the hell is wrong with Radio1? I have no problem them playing Rhianna, she's a good artist and I expect coverage of her on the Radio. However for them to play 2 in a row when there was opportunity to play other songs is shocking. That Russian Roulette song is ANCIENT. I know they try and dodge the more over played songs ('Fight for this love') was played mind you. Yet they played this."

Just opened up Popjustice today and found this, two chart shows a week! Haven't we suffered enough!

And it's been given to their second or third or fourth (debating between Dev and Edith) least competant DJ. It's on a half 3 though, so it probably means it'll just be him reading it out.
