I was SO excited last night I could hardly sleep! We only live 20 mins down the road so there was no question of us not coming. Got up extra early and was ready on the dot of 8am and STILL no luck! Absolutely devastated. Please, please, more tickets xxxxxxx

Like Captain Stella I too thought the blog had died. Glad to see it back. To all newbies - do stick around - we don't bite. Not very hard anyway!

Hope all ar OK and hope to see 'oldies' on here again soon.

    Hello CE & Everyone.

Many thanks for the new blog CLP!

It seems that CarFest is proving to be very popular indeed Chris but if all tickets are sold out in just over half an hour there must be lots of disappointed folks. Can the area not be extended?

So if most of the country is off to Hampshire for August Bank Holiday then I'm off to somewhere peaceful like North Wales, Cumbria (sailing on Windermere sounds good) or maybe another of my favourite outings, The Monkey Forest.

    Hello from next door!

Not being one to chat about folks behind their backs - I've just posted this in Mayoblog ...
    "~85 PSL - Top Non-Tenuous Links!

.. talking of which - I've just popped next door to say Hi to everyone now Chris is back.

Am saddened but not really surprised by the state of affairs in there.

An object lesson in how to lose loyal and faithful bloggers? Hope this doesn't translate into loss of listeners.
    :^( "

Now then guys an' gals - any implied criticism of CE invariably and quite rightly galvanises you lot into heated defence ... be my guest!

In the meantime, please come and play and chat about music and stuff with us.

Maddy - I LOVE THE MONKEY FOREST!!!! :-))

Hi CLP and everyone else, oldies, newbies and those in between .......

Good to have you back Christoff and chuffed for you that CarFest is a monster success just waiting to happen. Congrats to all who got tickets and booooooooooooooooooooooo to those who missed out.

Personally, it's not my bag so didn't even try for tickets (although I did email Chris and Producer andy asking if there was anything the bloggers could do on a voluntary basis, like we do for ciN, sadly no reply was forthcoming ....).

Chris, are you after a job on Top Gear?!?

Me? Busy, busy, busy. In a nutshell: business hectic, puppy energic, Nic's mum still poorly, weather pants, soggydoggywalks and mummy home from India - yay!

And Crumpy, if you're lurking ..... THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

Katy - I'm hearing you. And 100% agree with what I think you're saying (sorry - been a long day: I was networking at 7am)

Right, nose, grindstone ..... go go go >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

No fair. I was at work couldn't apply. How about releasing more tickets.

  • Comment number 16.

    Afternoon all

Had a bit of a self imposed blog exile but hopefully back now.

From Chris's twitter feed he is working on trying to get more tickets but how many I don't know.

Deev's and Katy I'm with you, I realise CLP is v busy at the moment and was gald he had blogged something, but I did think - Is that it? especially as the 1st one after two weeks of silence.

There is a marked contrast with the Drivetime Dude who generally gives a bit more to get the teeth into and not just about choosing the theme songs. And also seems to read all the comments rather like CLP used to do.

Hopefully once the chaos calms down we may get something more?

    Cheers

    A

    Andy

    Good to see you back.

Maybe when Mrs E gives birth to the nipper we'll get a bit more from the lovely CLP. I'll never, ever forget the way he shared with us all throughout the time Noah was "cooking" in his mummy's tum! :-))

But yes, Mr Mayo does seem to read more and interact with his Blogpoppets.

    Hey ho!

    Deevs.

I know the Monkey Forest is in your neck of the woods, it really is one of my favourite places, I feel quite at home there:) A few bananas and nuts and I'm happy:)

I was beginning to think that maybe the blog had 'closed down'. I do get the feeling that Chris is too busy with other things now but, if I'm wrong and he does glance through it, then apologies CLP.

So thrilled - managed to get some tickets! Went through sales trying to buy 2 adult tickets which had already sold out by the time I had put my payment details in. Tried again and could only get a family ticket so I might need to borrow a couple of children for the weekend :)

  • Comment number 23.

No tickets. Got all the way to the credit cad payment and then sold out! No olympics tickets and no car fest tickets.
    BOO

  • Comment number 24.

    Chris,
It's truely amazing that Car Fest has gone this well so far, and it says a lot about what people think of you and the whole idea!.......
Full credit to you and your team, and I know the event will be nothing short of awesome!
I tried for tickets, and I also received a very genuine and friendly call from Baz re displaying my concourse Mini.
Alas I was Unsuccessful, however I do appreciate that decisions have to be made and how difficult that process is..... (hmmmm would cruising up and down Ascot high street work?;-)

It's going to be a fantastic weekend, and I wish you the best of luck with it all :-)
    Kind Regards
    Paul

Nearly cried :( so looking forward to enjoying a great day at Carfest, but, all tickets had sold out , any more tickets to be issued? Pleeeeassssse

  • Comment number 26.

    Chris

Nice of you to pop in and tell us what most people already knew.

What happened, been away so long that you forgot your login id and password?

  • Comment number 27.

I think it's probably a good job I have thought about this before i post it - the original version was more forthright shall I say

Katy, How kind of you to pop in to tell us "loyal bloggers" how much better life is on Simon's blog. Forgive me if I say that personally i still wouldn't feel welcome there.

From what Chris has said on the radion this week I'm surprised he has time to wipe his nose let alone pop in to say hello - as he does most days when he is at work. I would think that organising something like carfest on top of his everyday work has probably taken up quite a lot of time

Personally, I am quite happy to stick around as long as Chris is willing to take any time out of his day to say hi but there is always the option not to bother coming to this blog if you don't like it

    ______________________________________________________________________

Now, what I really wanted to be able to say tonight

Big hurrahs to everyone lucky enough to get carfest tickets and big boos to all who missed out. I hope what Chris was going away to talk to people about was m,ore tickets and you get them if you want them

I'm really looking forward to hearing all the stories from the weekend - I wonder if there'll be any that end up as confessions!

Puppy-boy is wildly over-excited today so I'm trying ignoring him for a while - maybe then he'll ignore my toes!

Hi there y'all. New to this blogging malarkey but just wanted to say Hi and shout huzzah for being jammy enough to get tickets for Carfest...Friends of ours who were also online at the same time didn't but I suppose thats the way the cookie crumbles. Still, I got Family ticket without camping as the camping ones had gone so quickly...may be a tad peeved though if more camping ones get released..!!!

  • Comment number 29.

Talking about missing out on tickets, does anyone know when we find out if we have got tickets for the diamond jubilee concert - if you've applied that is!

Marti, well done for getting some tickets. I bet you'll have a fantastic time (and you get the bonus of a proper bed at night!)

Hi Chris, this is my first ever message to a radio station, we listen to you every morning and think you are fab. So disappointed to miss out on tickets for Car Fest even though we were online at 8.00am. Now really excited to hear you talking about another one up North near us, tell us more please when can we buy some tickets?

  • Comment number 40.

Christoph - oh thank heavens you're back! And well done on the sell-out of Car Fest - you've found another winner there and it's for charidee!

Mornin' everyone. Well done to those who managed to get tickets for Car Fest - it sounds like it's going to be a great weekend.

Deevs - glad the business is going from strength to strength. I remember the lovely posts from CLP when Tash was expecting Noah and how he shared so much with us, including the scan photo of "baby DJ" but I guess he's a very busy boy at the moment!

Have a good day one and all.

  • Comment number 41.

What's this I hear mention of 'CarFest North'? Information from the blog as I only get to listen to Chris for about 25 minutes from 7.15. I know it's inhuman the time I start work. Can someone fill me in on what's being said?

As I've previously said it's lovely to see so many newbies. Do hope they stick around.

Monkey World sounds a great idea! Have I passed it? Off the A34 ?

    Regards PJ

Just name the place and the date and we'll be there x 4

  • Comment number 43.

    Morning all!
Welcome back to us CLP - missed you!!!! Thank you for a new blog!

Not had a chance to listen to the shows much the last couple of days busy busy and early into work. but for PJ - he is chatting about organising carfest in the north, just chatting at this stage - nothing confirmed.

I'm a lucky lady to have a weekend camper ticket - now I havent camped for more than 15 years so this is a really - hmmm - "interesting" prospect for me. But do you know what - I'm gonna give it a go and who knows, this is my first ever festival and next year I could be up for Glasto!!!!

But lets be honest for those on here who know me well, KNOW that there will be lots of tales to be told about the experience!!!! I think its only fair that I take a stock of ear plugs for the poor souls camping around me LOL

Right time to grab a coffee and get back to my Olympic Action plan....

    Happy thursty thursday everyone!

Gutted booked holiday so we could come down but was too late to get tickets, was looking forward to the bake off and a cheeky cider over the weekend :-(

  • Comment number 50.

Really pleased you have arranged another one - but please do not put the tickets on sale at 9AM in the week - some of us can't get to a phone/internet at that time :-(

  • Comment number 51.

I have been eagerly waiting to try and get tickets since you first mentioned it, both me and my husband tried to get some on Wednesday - I had to use my mobile as I was at a conference and had no access to a computer but we both had a message to say that the tickets were sold out at 8.10 - we are both gutted!! How come it says they were sold out in 30mins??? I heard you mention that there may be more next week but couldnt hang on to hear the details or would have got the sack for being late for work this morning........... : ( Am very envious of those who managed to get some - please please please let me know if there are more as I will try again..

  • Comment number 52.

    Chris,
we have managed to get a day ticket for the Saturday down south, but we are desperate to get a family weekend camping ticket (multiple mobiles still couldn't get through until 10 minutes past 8!). If CarFest North goes ahead will there be a chance to upgrade our ticket........pleaseeeeeeee?
Though not sure we can fit the camping gear in our 1960 Morris 1000!
    Cheers
    Steve & family from Cardiff

Hi just wanted to say what a great idea, the carfest is...:) just a shame that sooo many people from the 2 surrounding villages have been unable to get tickets (love thy neighbour and all that...) hope its the start of a long tradition in hampshire...great venue, great people...oo and the buffalo burgers are amazing !!! :)...please please more tickets x

  • Comment number 55.

    Chris,
Carfest, what an awesome idea BUT is there any chance of any more tickets going on sale? You have appeared to have ruffled a few feathers of us Overtonians due to fast ticket sales. Quite a few of us tried our hardest to get tickets but didn't manage to get any so we now have a festival up the road thats gonna cause SOME disruption to our quiet village and we haven't got the chance to be part of the disruption :)
PLEASE PLEASE give us locals the chance of tickets to attend!
    Sincerely, half of Overton :)

  • Comment number 56.

Hi is there any plan/date for carfest north ticket release yet ? REALLY don't want to miss it!

  • Comment number 57.

Not yet, i am checking daily for carfest in north, i think it wil be awesome.
