My weekend plans

Yay it’s the weekend, and not only that; it’s got a bonus day in the form of bank holiday Monday as well! That’s three days for the price of two for everybody except those that have got to work, and everybody in Scotland possibly.

This weekend sees little Nicole’s first trip to visit all of Jayne’s family oop north in West Yorks which will be nice. By a total coincidence Everton happen to be at home as well, and with Goodison being only an hour on the M62 from the grandparents' house, everyone’s a winner.

The forecast is supposed to be quite good, so if you’re out in the sun, remember to play safe and cream yourself for protection from harmful UV rays and the sun. I like gravy, but am still slightly unsure about Dom’s special sauce. It contains all sorts of weird secret ingredients, like apple and anchovies pubis and celery which I’ve never liked.

Dom says you can’t taste the celery and the mushrooms in there, so if that’s the case, why put them in? So far demand for the sauce has been slow and his taste surveys largely disappointing, with the majority of people polled agreeing that it tastes like pish.

As you’ll probably have already gathered, I’m writing this blog in a slight rush in order to hurry up and get on the M1 before the bank holiday rush results in total gridlock. I therefore apologise for the fact that in terms of content and entertainment, like Dom’s gravy it’s slightly disappointing and a little cold. Maybe next week I could write another blog, or perhaps even attempt a hostage style video diary like Aled does so well.

In the meantime, have a nice weekend and try and allow a little extra time for your journey if possible.

Kind thoughts
Dave

PS Why does traffic slow down and even stop for no reason on the motorway, when there’s no obvious incident or obstructions. It makes no sense to me.

According to this website:

"So called "phantom traffic jams" are actually caused by a vehicle braking sharply - causing a red light domino effect. The red light is the brake light that the following driver sees ahead. The driver behind then brakes suddenly and this has a domino effect until further down the line traffic grinds to a halt."
