Absence makes the heart grow fonder
A total of 23 councillors - 18.6% of the total - did not vote in Friday's emergency budget debate at County Hall.
Four failed to send apologies: Irene Bailey (Independent), Brian Hobbs (Liberal Democrat), Denise Mutton (Conservative,) and Neil Plummer (Mebyon Kernow).
Apologies were received from Lisa Dolley, Mike Eddowes, Geoffrey Evans, Derek Holley, Ann Kerridge, Mary May, Sue Nicholas, Jan Powell, Chris Ridgers, Roy Taylor, George Trubody and Terry Wilkins.
Seven others had to leave before the end of the meeting, which had been re-scheduled at short notice because of poor weather.

According to the Cornwall Council website Cornwall Council has 122 Councillors and 1 vacancy for Camborne North (who naturally could not vote as the post is unfilled)
- so, with the given figures of 60 for the motion, 39 against, 1 absention, 12 apologies for absence, 7 who left early who should have given apologies for absence from the vote, and 4 who were too ill-mannered to give apologies for absence just who is the "mystery" additional Councillor - or is Camborne North now filled and the council website at fault.
The truth is out there, perhaps you can find out whom this mystery person is!!

Thanks for confirming my comment - as I said "The truth is out there" - somebody had obviously given you the wrong information as a "Cornwall Council Notice of Election Election of a Councillor for the Camborne North Electoral Division of Cornwall Council Notice" was published on 2 December 2010
- so if it was a Council employee involved in supplying information about attendees they, presumably, hadn't read the notice, or been advised internally about the election date.
