Not sure if this is the sort of league table that County Hall will want to publicise, but the Local Government Association has just published data showing that Cornwall Council ranks 4th in the list of authorities which has shed workers - 2,295 (15.2%) in 2010/11. Only Kent, Manchester and Norfolk got rid of more staff.

I'm by no means an apologist for this mob but surely the fact that they moved far faster in applying their cuts and frontloaded them, suggest that they would have reduced staff numbers faster than other councils? I would have expected this based on that information. I would expect others to maybe overhaul Cornwall in the medium term....
