PM shies away from lawyers' involvement with inquiry
It would mean "lawyers, lawyers, lawyers" thundered a passionate Prime Minister Gordon Brown this afternoon when explaining why the Iraq inquiry could not be held in public.
One might begin to suspect our PM had a thing about members of the legal profession. A bigger problem than with women, as Former Europe Minister Caroline Flint claimed, perhaps?
And which lawyers have driven him this way? I can think of a couple - and I stress "couple" - whose names begin with "B".

I am presuming a 'thing' that's not exactly positive on all sorts of counts. In which case it must be one of the few areas I found myself in agreement with our er... 'passionate' (is that another from Private Eye, like 'tired and emotional?) Gettingonwiththejobworth's judgement.
But at least many lawyers in Parliament seem sane, if often still venal. And some can even attract followers as a consequence. Not that having a bunch of remoras attached to you through no more than self interest and lack of options quite qualifies as 'leadership'.
