Email sent and copied to PM.

It certainly represents a typical day for me!

I've looked through my inbox at home and they are either unspeakably rude email jokes that I couldn't forward on to the nation at large or the PM newsletter.

Had a bit of a chuckle looking through them all though!

Hmmm, the BL in cahoots with the ubiquitous Gates? Interesting partnership.

So. You want us to send a revealing email to the BL chappies and cc to you, so you know EVEN MORE about us? You've already got windows (??!!) on our worlds, now you're enveigling pix out of us. This is interactivity gone mad! ;o) It'll be passwords and mothers' maiden names next.

I missed the beginning of that piece - what do we have to e-mail? Is it just a random e-mail from my inbox? Thank you

Mine is one I received from a friend today.....spectacular photos of natural features around the world.

Oh, and Eric, you did set us a really difficult choice in the newsletter tonight:

"Tune in tonight for more details or hell"

And I've been a good girl all day.

Except for splurging a whole £4 on three cards, a multicoloured duster (don't ask) and a pair of black and white sunglasses.

    Shopping and frogging.

Fiona - yes, whatever you like. If you go to the website (sorry don't have the link at present), they give you instructions, eg what catagory to put it in. It could even be spam if you wished!

Not wishing to be a spoilsport or nuffin, - but is this simply an advertising campaign for Windows Hotmail?

Just to endorse the advice from Izzy to visit the website and check the instructions. I was silly enough just to select an email and forward it and only then went to the website to read the instructions and find that I had breached the conditions. Doh!

The good news is that you can withdraw your submission up to May 31st.

I suppose we could all send them some of Fifi's e mails. May has been a bit hectic so far. Its being a year older I can't now do so much!

I have heard that H*tm**l is very prone to spam, so that looks promising.

Yesterday I decided to set up a new email address called neilsjunkmail@ [to be decided], which I will then use to record my email address for all those "Win a prize" surveys. Perhaps H*tm**l is the perfect location.

Basically any names must be removed, which could identify people - including emails etc...

Thanks for more info on this - like Fiona I had heard the end of the piece on Today, and scribbled down what I thought was the email address on the previous day's newspaper (you don't really want to know this do you?), then proceeded to put the paper into the recycling. Hotmail's an interesting choice, sometimes a bit flaky in my experience.

I've just sent off an old 419 scam spam I found lurking in my inbox.

It may date back to 2005, but what record of email in Britain would be complete without some spam? Since the 419s tend to be unintentionally hilarious (especially with their dodgy English - "my personal volt"), they're better ones to include than Virgin's latest newsletter, ads for online pharmacies (usually trying to flog you sildenafil citrate and friends), and chain letters.

Subject: I AWAITS YOUR URGENT RESPONSE.

    FROM DR DANIEL SOGLO.
    AUDITING AND ACCOUNTING UNIT.
    FOREIGN OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT.
    INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL BANK.
    ACCRA-GHANA.

I am DR DANIEL SOGLO, the auditing and accounting section of INTERNATIONAL COMMERCIAL BANK in ACCRA-BANK with due respect and regards.

I have decided to contact you on a business transaction that will be very beneficial to both of us at the end of the transaction. We had a foreign client DR H. PAUL JACOBI who deposited a huge sum of money (US$2million) with our bank.

Eventually, this client was among the victims of EGYPT AIR BOEING 767 FLIGHT NO.990 that crashed on the 31-10-1999 in U.S.A but, since then we have not had any body coming for the claims as the next of kin. A situation I have monitored closely with my position in the bank.

Now, having monitored this deposit over the years after his death, and hence nobody has showed up as the next of kin for the past three and half years, I have moved the file to my private volt.

I now solicit for your assistance to present you as the next of kin as every other arrangement has being concluded by me and I am only waiting for a foreigner to enable me move the fund to his account. This does not have any risk attached to it as all the internal documentations will be handled by me.

I therefore request you to confirm your interest by a return message and I will furnish you with details. Your interest will be negotiable before we commence the project. I look forward to hearing from you. Remain Bless.

    Yours Faithfully.

    DR DANIEL SOGLO.

Oh, perfect, one of those spurious bank account letters, mittfh.

Better than the ubiquitous offers to enlarge mens' downstairs parts or sell little blue pills (which, I suppose do the same but in a different way...)

Wolf, jonnie, as you'll see, I did question the Gates connection. Strange bedfellows. It's all about a new snotmail product, if you check the url.

I do use grotmail, cos it's useful for sending/receiving emails when I'm not at home. I've got a strong filter on, so very few offers to enlarge parts I do not need to have enlarged and a disappointing lack of African volts [sic! I did like that] full of money.

Still, might do it for a laff.
