Some people also objected to the broadcast of a recording of between President Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair.

We also received this e-mail:

Why object to hearing what Blair and Bush have to say? Its surely in the public interest to hear what they are discussing as it gives us a priceless insight into their personal relationship, how they come across when not on camera and allows for detailed analysis of the 'special relationship'.

i am far more interested in the bbc's internet posting of email correspondence between a lebanese and israeli over this conflict than in bush's epithet. the media have far too much power in filtering news. this exchange is a wonderfully refreshing chance to hear real people in the middle of profound conflicts talk with each other in a civilized way.

It's not the circulation of a private conversation I have major objections about but the media taking on the role of analysts of the tape. Talk about spin! The media are the greatest spinners going.
