Guy goes to Hollywood
Remember Guy Goma? 
The chap who came for a job interview, as a "Data Systems Cleanser" at Television Centre, and ended up live on air on News 24? No? Where have you been?
He was famous for rather longer than Andy Warhol's 15 minutes - as media outlets across the globe scrambled to hear his take on our embarrassing mix-up. Sadly, he didn't get the job he came for, but there may still be a happy ending. suggest his story may be turned into a Hollywood movie - and that ought to earn him a couple of quid at least.
Of course, if the movie moguls want to hear what REALLY happened, they know where to find me....
We're taking bets on who will play Karen Bowerman, the business presenter who conducted That Interview: Sharon Stone is hot favourite - in every sense. And casting the (talented? handsome?) news editor who carried the can (er, that'll be me, then) should be a piece of cake. Step forward George Clooney.
Can I have my 15% now, please?

You cannot be serious. Any company who is willing to budget off of this low product film is nuts. ha ha it would be a laugh though, the main highlight being a 15 minute stuff up by the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú.
Maybe the film could be called:
"The Wrong Guy"
Sounding a tad bitter? ;-) Screw it, the guy is profiting from a mistake and nobody is being harmed by it.
This was such a great mess-up by the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú, but you can't fault their openess about it.
Guy Goma did a great job though of keeping his cool in his "job interview" on live television!
I just saw him in "Shall we Dance" with Paula somebody and Richard Gere. He was a good charachter in the movie about a man who discovers BallRoom Dancing - of all things
This is not a news story. The 'Hollywood movie' possibility is based on quotes from Alison Rosenzweig, who is a 'producer' whose only mainstream release to date has been 'Windtalkers' (2002) in which she was listed as producer along with three others. She only says that the Wrong man was a concept that could be sold to a major studio. The only possible raeson for this to be a news story is because it suits her to be able to claim that the incident is now famous. Could the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú say how many people were watching the interview?
I dont undrstand how they can make a 15min mistake into a possible 90min hollywood flick?

Ilpadrino, I suspect the actual mistake will take place in the first 5 minutes and the rest of the film will be a tired romantic comedy between Guy (now a white um... guy) and the attractive anchorlady.
The end scene will probably be him bursting into the news studio when they are live on air and admitting his love for said attractive anchorlady.
Come guys, think a little! Of course the whole film is not simply going to be about the teeny weeny interview, but it's a good idea for a hook along with an added love interest, a protaganist, and a 'guy' does good and gets the girl type ending. Simple plot compilation with an added 'twist'. Wish I'd thought of it first!
Just wanted to thank the beeb for handling all of this in good relatively good humour. It's great that you've made the interview available for download - the look on that poor dude's face is just sheer quality when the interview first starts.
I hope nobody from the beeb got into big trouble from the big-wigs for this mix up cos, hey, life is funny and mistakes happen.
I think you guys really should reconsider offering him a position - he deserves it.
Conspiracy theory:
How can any body be sure that Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú News (News 24 in this case) didn´t stage the whole thing to get the extra rating, free publicity and now a blockbuster movie as a result of the "mistake"?

Hooks are for hanging coats on.
That's the problem with a lot of Hollywood films. They take a slightly amusing idea and then wreck it by padding it out with either soppy, light comedic romance, or action packed special effects. Put in one or two big named stars, and hey presto - another film with very little substance.The Terminal, starring Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta-Jones springs to mind, as a film based on an intriguing real life situation, which in the end was made a hash of.
I want a film that provokes me to think beyond the questions of - why did they bother to make it? And why did I waste my time and money watching it?
I'm sure this will be a brilliant idea for a film, and for those who think that the concept is outlandish, in the last year, there have been stories developed from simple ideas; Daughter gets missing on plane (FlightPlan); Snakes on a Plane (Snakes on a Plane); A 40-Year old Virgin (exactly!!!); A policeman transports a criminal 16 blocks for trial (16 Blocks); a guy gets trapped in a phone booth by a sniper (Phone Booth). I'm sure a good writer/producer team can turn the Wrong Guy into a hit.

I think that the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú should give Mr Goma a job…..the next Sir Trevor McDonald?!?!! I also think that the film has the potential to be very funny.....but I suppose VERY short! It’s definitely got my imagination juices flowing!!!
