Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú in the news, Friday
Daily Telegraph: Reports that Greg Dyke asked for his job back a week after resigning as Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú director-general. ()
The Times: "Last-minute lobbying by the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú has failed to convince the government of the case for a more generous licence fee settlement." ()

Of course, we can always rely on 'The Times' for a completely fair, balanced and impartial view of discussions on the future of the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Licence Fee...[surely, Telly-Tax? Rupert]
The Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú is easy pray for Government belt tightening because of the compulsory nature of the Fee. HMG are the protector of the public purse and the champions of public broadcasting at one and the same time.
I find it amazing that even today the Hutton Enquiry seems to be a taboo subject. The way the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú were treated by the Government was an absolute disgrace especially after the claims made by the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú at the time that resulted in the Hutton Enquiry were proven to be true! History has vindicated Andrew Gilligan and Greg Dyke and the dossier that was used to promote the war in Iraq has been proven to have been massaged towards that event. The Government demanded an apology from the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú and the sacking of scapegoats, but where's the apology for the Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú for the disgraceful treatment received at the hands of this Government?
