   Interesting interview with a somewhat misleading headline. The Archbishop appears to be saying simply that the views of the different faith communities need taking into account when enacting new laws. I would agree that this seems eminently sensible as our laws are meant to represent the views of the people……and many of us, do indeed, hold religious viewpoints. The law shouldn’t simply become the playground of the secularist bully.

   Coming from anyone who chooses to base their belief system and presumably life choices on a book of folk lore ( of whatever shade as they are all as bad and loaded as each other ) i find that a little rich.
   Religion, in its many and varied forms, has been the under pinning of almost every meglomaniac and butcher throughout history.
   I have no problem whatsoever with you all praising your various "one true gods " just don't try and rule my life with laws designed to prop up your superstitions.
   Sharia, or any religious based court, has no place in Modern Britain, if any want to be subject to this system then i believe Iran or Saudi Arabia with their enlightened regimes govern by it so maybe go to one of those countries.
   The Law of the Land should , indeed must, be applied equally to all and IMO there should be no place for Religious caviats.

   It really annoys me when people have a blatant disregard for the country in which they live, we live in Britain where we have laws that are passed by parliament and those laws are the ones that should be followed!

   this is ridiculous..the sharia courts may start by just dealing with harmless matters but it would be the beginning of something far bigger.

   islamists the world over would see this as proof that their policies of violence are working..and that allah is indeed helping them spread their message..it would give their cause huge momentum.

   one more thing...whats to stop me creating my own religion and making some new laws to suit my lifetyle?

   if the archbishop idea gets of the ground where will it end..any group..scientologists etc..could also claim these rights....

   there is one law for all..otherwise we will have chaos.

Our ancestors came here and we should be greatful for the English people for giving us the opportunities we have today. I totally agree with those who believe it shouldn't be imposed as when we visit other nations, we are expected to abide by their respective laws. People who are pro sharia laws need to have more respect for the English values and laws that we have chosen to abide bt in coming to this country.

   Very cynical but perhaps he feels like a lot of us that muslims in this country have pushed the rules far enough and their are many muslim countries they can live in if they want to live by these laws.

Most of this was caused by the Government and PC groups, who seemed to ride rough-shod over, and totally ignored the Majority.
    It seemed that Immigrants were far more important and were constantly given priority, while ignoring the many years of service and Taxes, that the Indiginous People have given.

    Added to this were unfettered Immigration, Terror-attacks, Hate-preaching Imams and Mobs, unlisted Immigrants 'lost' in the system, Illegal-Immigration and over-stretched Social-services etc.

    We really should consider Referendums/Polls on Social issues that affect the Majority - before we instigate major changes to their lives on such a large scale.
    To wait for a General-Election in order to voice their views - is too late...
