Jarvis Cocker, the former frontman of Britpop favourites Pulp, has recorded an album of the sounds of nature for National Trust: The Album. It features material recorded at the historic Powis Castle near Welshpool.

Gwynn-Angell Jones from the says: "If rock and roll is the sound of the city, this is the sound of the country - it's the ultimate chill-out album. Millions of people come to our places for physical and mental refreshment, and these sounds are an important part of that. The release of this album is the first time the sounds of the National Trust have been given their place in the spotlight, and we're hoping it will provide the perfect antidote to the daily interruptions of a busy life. When you're having a hectic day, this is a holiday for your head."

Jarvis Cocker comments, "We wanted to produce an album that takes listeners on an audio journey around some of Britain's special places, creating something that is both refreshing, but also provides a soundtrack to think to. It's hard for people to escape the distractions of a busy life, but hopefully the album will provide 30 minutes of calm and take the National Trust experience to a new audience."
