Complaint
A viewer complained Fiona Bruce showed bias against the SNP panellist, the MP Drew Hendry. 聽The ECU considered the complaint in the light of the 麻豆官网首页入口鈥檚 editorial standards of impartiality.
Outcome
Across the hour-long programme the panellists considered four questions from the audience. 聽In the ECU鈥檚 view, Mr Hendry was given adequate time to set out his views on each question. 聽As the programme was nearing its end, with Mr Hendry鈥檚 comments some way from the subject matter and under the pressure of time, Ms Bruce felt it necessary to cut him short. 聽However, it was clear from the ensuing exchange that Mr Hendry accepted he鈥檇 been given the chance to answer the original question.聽 The ECU considered Ms Bruce was simply trying to bring the programme back to concerns raised by the audience, and had been no more robust in her treatment of Mr Hendry than her treatment of the other politicians on the panel.
