Al Murray's growing reputation as one of Britain's finest stand-up comics took another erratic lurch onwards last night as he played to a capacity audience at the Warwick Arts Centre.
No political correctness stood in the way of his merciless put-downs and razor sharp wit.

More correctly, Murray played with his audience rather than to them. Right from the second his show kicked off, he developed his act using material drawn from more than 20 random chosen (i.e. luckless!) members of the audience.
With a remarkable display of memory, Murray took the little details gleaned from them and blended them into the fabric of his show.
In what appeared at first to be a xenophobic rant, he savaged his way through Little England (and a few more national stereotypes en route) with his one-man quest to find Great Britain.
