    About This Event

    Sopranos Miah Persson and Adela Zaharia join Vasily Petrenko and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra for a concert that moves from the lush, late-Romantic soundscapes of Strauss鈥檚 songs and the sweeping melodic generosity of Elgar鈥檚 Italy-inspired overture In the South to the leaner, more percussive intensity of Bart贸k鈥檚 Concerto for Orchestra 鈥� a virtuosic showcase for the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

    The concert also includes the world premiere of Iain Bell鈥檚 concerto for coloratura soprano and orchestra, Aurora.

    Diana Damrau, the advertised soprano, has had to withdraw owing to illness. The 麻豆官网首页入口 Proms is grateful to Miah Persson and Adela Zaharia for taking her place at short notice.
