The orchestra is performing all three of William Walton鈥檚 string concertos during this season, and James Ehnes completes the set with the composer鈥檚 iconic work for solo violin.
It鈥檚 followed by Vaughan Williams鈥檚 Fourth Symphony, a rich and surprising work dedicated to fellow composer and contemporary Arnold Bax 鈥� whose impassioned, evocative and ultimately lovelorn tone-poem opens the evening.
