Every piece of music makes its own world. Shostakovich faced the terror of Stalin鈥檚 Russia and composed a symphony that echoed down the twentieth century. The young Benjamin Britten set out to impress with a Piano Concerto that plays fabulous games with light and shade. Elizabeth Ogonek, meanwhile, simply gazed into a moonlit sky 鈥� and heard sounds of unforgettable enchantment.
