Exceptional young violinist Chlo毛 Hanslip returns to the Orchestra alongside conductor Xian Zhang, as we take a musical journey through France, with a hint of Spanish influence.
Ravel鈥檚 叠辞濒茅谤辞 sets the scene perfectly, with its stirring rhythms and atmospheric melody. Chlo毛 will take to the platform for Edouard Lalo鈥檚 Symphonie Espagnole and we finish with Saint-Sa毛ns Symphony No 3. On the composition of his third symphony Saint-Sa毛ns proclaimed 鈥渨hat I have here accomplished, I will never achieve again鈥�, anticipating his final journey into the symphonic form, and one which encapsulated all that he was as a musician, most notably with his addition of the organ to composition.
