Mr T is the foe for this flashy third instalment in the "Rocky" series, and what MGM give with one hand they take away with the other on a frustrating DVD.
The "Rocky III" disc is at least presented in an anamorphic transfer (a process which carries extra coding to create a more detailed picture on a widescreen TV). It's just as well, too, because the print suffers from a lot of minor damage and scratches. Additionally most of the film is slightly grainy with dirty colours . It isn't until the final fight that the picture suddenly improves and it's clear that some effort has been put into this scene.
After the boring 2.0 mix of the "Rocky II" DVD, this sequel does at least get a 5.1 effort that maximises on highlights of the film including a great bass laced rendition of the 'Eye of the Tiger' song.
The extra feature is a trailer that's clearly seen better days.
