This article will tell of the importance that Manchester had on his life. It will explain how it influenced him politically and also how his work there helped finance both himself and Marx. It will portray the reasons why he came to Manchester. On the surface it was to appease his father, but in reality he wanted to study the city at the centre of the industrial world and the people that inhabited it.
