"I can remember three ladies of the town, that lived in a beautiful house in Upper Parliament Street. And there was another lady who had a most gorgeous flat in Rodney Street. I would say this lady was a bit coarse to say the least, but she had a beautiful mink coat and she never wore slippers. She had ostrich feathered mules.

"On one occasion I had to go to her house to deliver two pairs of shoes and two pairs of slippers on a special order because she had visitors arriving. A lady came to the door and then a voice came down, ‘Come up love, come up.’ I went up and couldn't believe what I was looking at. There was the most gorgeous grand piano in this flat and a music teacher. She was learning to play the piano. The flat was out of this world, unbelievable. "
