2. What a sarangi sounds like

Suhail Yusuf Khan, of folk-jazz-classical group Yorkston Thorne Khan, is an expert sarangi player. He came all the way from New Delhi to Glasgow to show us how the extraordinary, evolved instrument works.

6. Shellac records are made of insects!

Before vinyl there was shellac, which is what you have to use to DJ with gramophones. Made out of actual beetles, it's not for vegans or the faint hearted - the records are so robust they blunt the needles, which have to be replaced mid-set.
