What is Shoot The Summer?

Festival goer

About

‘Shoot The Summer’ is a film documenting a summer of festivals shot entirely on mobile phones. The film was shot by our DJs, our artists and most importantly our audience. The film covers a diverse selection of events including Cambridge Folk Festival, Summer Sundae, London Mela, Notting Hill Carnival, Creamfields, Bestival and Proms in the Park, to name a few.

How to watch You can watch the whole film here and see clips on our mobile site bbc.co.uk/mobile/shootthesummer.

What the hell's happening with Zane’s Phone?

Zane asks Black Kids to take his phone to Glastonbury

At the start of the summer Zane Lowe interviewed Black Kids before their gig at Glastonbury and asked them to take his phone and film some backstage footage for the film. He then asked them to pass the phone on – kinda like a camera phone chain mail - to another band to film at the next festival.

Zane will get his phone back at the end of the summer with loads of great footage from some pretty cool bands. Throughout the summer we'll catch up with the phone and put clips online for you to see.
