Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp says he is going to leave the Premier League club at the end of the season.

The German has been in charge of the Reds since October 2015 and has helped the team win the Champions League and the Premier League.

His departure will be a big surprise for many Liverpool fans, with whom the manager is very popular.

"I can understand that it's a shock for a lot of people in this moment, when you hear it for the first time," he said, but admitted that he was "running out of energy".

Thanking Klopp for his work, Liverpool's owners, said: "It goes without saying that we will be hugely saddened to lose not just a manager of such calibre, but a person and leader for whom we have enormous respect, gratitude and affection."

What has Klopp won with Liverpool FC?

Liverpool have won every major trophy available since the German boss took charge.

Klopp guided Liverpool to their sixth European Cup in 2019 when they beat Tottenham in the Champions League final in Madrid.

They followed that up with victory in the Uefa Super Cup and the Fifa Club World Cup, and won the Premier League title in 2020, the club's first league title in 30 years.

His Liverpool team also won the FA and League Cups in 2021-22.

"I love absolutely everything about this club, I love everything about the city, I love everything about our supporters, I love the team, I love the staff. I love everything," Jurgen Klopp said.

"I am, how can I say it, running out of energy... I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again.

"After the years we had together and after all the time we spent together and after all the things we went through together, the respect grew for you, the love grew for you and the least I owe you is the truth - and that is the truth."
