Ireland have been crowned Six Nations champions for the second year running.

They faced Scotland in their final match of the competition and only needed a draw to lift the trophy.

But they won 17 points to 13 in Dublin to be crowned champions.

Ireland's fly-half Jack Crowley said "it's everything to win a trophy for the country".

Ireland couldn't manage to replicate last year's Grand Slam - by winning every match in the competition - after they were narrowly beaten by England at Twickenham last week.

But their win over Scotland did win them back-to-back Six Nations titles - something they haven't done since 2015.

It is the 16th time that they have lifted the trophy since the competition started.

Ireland's head coach Andy Farrell said moments like winning the title for the second year running are "what dreams are made of".

Meanwhile Ireland's final opponents Scotland finished fourth in the table.

England went into their final game against France knowing they could only finish as high as runner's up, but it wasn't to be.

They narrowly lost out 33-31 in Lyon, meaning they finished in third.

Wales finished bottom, after failing to pick up a win in the tournament.
