Donald Trump's win: YOUR questions answered
Donald Trump has won the 2024 US election and will be president for a second time from early next year.
He'll take over from current president Joe Biden at the Inauguration in January 2025.
Lots of you got in touch with your questions about America's next president.
麻豆官网首页入口 News correspondent Anna Foster has been covering the election in the capital city of Washington DC and she sent us these answers.
Why did people vote for Donald Trump?
"When adults vote in elections they have lots of different things that they're thinking about, but they try and pick the person who they think will make their life better," Anna said.
When Donald Trump was on the election campaign, he said that one of his biggest priorities is to improve the economy, to help people deal with the rising cost of living and feel like they have more money in their pockets.
"That was a message that people really wanted to hear," she explained.
Trump also talked about immigration and making much stricter rules about who can come into America.
"Again, that was a message that people did want to hear, even though lots of people who voted the other way [for Kamala Harris], didn't."
What will Donald Trump do about the many conflicts going on in the world?
Mr Trump says he wants the US to stop getting involved in conflicts elsewhere in the world, and to put "America first" - but what does that mean?
Anna explained: "He maybe won't get so involved in conflicts around the world as for example Joe Biden just did.
"We don't quite know yet whether he'll have a really big impact on things like the war in the Middle East, although he has promised to try and fix it but that's not an easy job."
Trump has also previously said he would stop the money the US sends to Ukraine.
"He might take away some American help for that, so we'll wait and see."
Why was Donald Trump allowed to run for President when he was tried for several crimes?
Mr Trump is the first former president in US history to be criminally convicted.
He will also be the first president to take office while still facing a number of criminal cases against him. So, how was he able to return to the White House?
Anna explained that there are no rules in the US Constitution blocking presidential candidates with criminal records from standing in elections.
"There aren't many rules about who can run for President. You have to be at least 35 years old, you have to have been born in the United States and you have to have lived for at least fourteen years, but beyond that anybody can run for president," Anna said.
Is Donald Trump going to do anything about climate change?
Anna explained: "A lot of experts are really worried about what Donald Trump as president again might do for climate change."
In 2017, when he was US President, Trump pulled America out of the Paris agreement, a huge international deal agreed by leaders from 195 countries, which is one of the main ways that the world is trying to deal with climate change.
Annas explained that Mr Trump wants to do more things like drilling for oil and he has previously said he doesn't always believe in green issues, so some people think that when it comes to the environment he might take America "backwards rather than forwards."
Will Donald Trump be able to run in the next election?
In the US, rules state that you are only allowed to be president twice, however there is a way that he could run for president again - if he changes the law.
"He has joked about doing that before," Anna said. However, it is rather unlikely that would happen.
Anna added: "I think that would be a pretty difficult thing to do.
"After this, that's probably it for Donald Trump."
