Rebirth by Pauline Burgess

This is your time,

When the daily furniture of our lives

Stirs, as the miracle arrives.

Your heart is lifting

Out of those years of bruising nightmares.

Your soul rising to meet new cares.

You will love again

The frightened stranger that is within yourself

Will practise life with renewed health.

The time is coming

When you will welcome your own reflection

And observe that image with affection

You have inspired me

To crack through walls of hurt and stealth,

Breaking me out of my mundane self.

In all of this

Your hopes rise and crash through clouds of fear,

Steering our life, when our newborn is here.
